A HMV spokesperson explained to the NME: "This demonstrates the enduring appeal of Led Zeppelin as the definitive rock band. "Their music is now connecting with a whole new generation of fans, who are discovering its brilliance for the first time." Such was the impact of their gig that Mothership - the band's recent compilation album - experienced a 50% sales boost on the day after the gig outselling any other album.
