Kooks bassist Max Rafferty has quit the band.

Max previously left the line up due to illness but this time he has quit for good.

In a statement the band said: "Max Rafferty has parted company with The Kooks - the band will be continuing with the forthcoming shows. Dan Logan, bassist with local Brighton band Cat The Dog, will be filling in for the short-term."

Konk, The Kooks second album, will be released on April 14.
