Hadouken! Keen On Girls Aloud Gig

Hadouken! have called on Girls Aloud to give them a support slot on tour.

A lyric by the Leeds electro-grime quintet is thought to have partly inspired Hoxton Heroes, the Girls' song about scene-tastemakers in the trendy East London area.

Frontman James Smith told Orange: "I think Girls Aloud did a track called Hoxton Heroes which may or may not have been inspired by one of our lyrics."

He said: "It's quite cool, I think it's just culture appropriating itself. They're just a really good band, they just make pop music and make it well, so we're cool with that."

That Boy, That Girl, the Hadouken! tune with the "Hoxton hero" reference, is itself an attack on fashions and behaviour in the culturally vibrant area.

Bassist Chris Purcell added: "If they'd like to have us on tour or sling us any support slots we're definitely on board, so give us a call girls."
