Rock bands Paramore and 30 Seconds To Mars are nominated for four prizes each at this year's Relentless Energy Drink Kerrang! Awards.

The two nominees - who are voted for by the public - are to fight it out in the same categories, including Best Live Band and Best International Band.

30 Seconds To Mars are up for Best Video for 'Kings And Queens' and Best Album for 'This Is War', while Paramore will compete for the same gongs with their video for 'Brick By Boring Brick' and album 'Brand New Eyes'.

Jared Leto - lead singer from 30 Seconds To Mars - said: "Wow! Very grateful to be included. Thank you so much to every single one of you for the relentless and tireless voting!"

Other nominees include Biffy Clyro - who are up for two awards, Best Video and Best Album - and Lostprophets, who are in the running for Best British Band and Best Video.

Nichola Browne, editor of Kerrang! added: "The competition is now getting tough! US superstars Paramore, Green Day, Metallica and 30 Seconds To Mars are going head to head with the biggest and best homegrown talent, namely Lostprophets, Bullet For My Valentine, You Me At Six and Biffy Clyro."

The awards will take place on 29 July 2010 in London and are set to be presented by Anthrax rocker Scott Ian, who said: "I am really excited, actually super excited to be back again for my 4th year hosting the Kerrang! Awards. And like last year I get to share the good time with my stylish friend Corey Taylor. Next to my birthday, it's the biggest party of the year!! See you there!"
