Coldplay has done a u-turn and allowed the Glee kids to get their mitts on the band’s catalogue.

The British rock band originally turned down a request from producers to have their songs used in the hit show.

But writer-producer Ryan Murphy has told The Hollywood Reporter the band has done a complete turnaround and granted the William McKinley High kids access to the band's entire catalogue.

"At the beginning a lot of people didn't know what we were and asked to see pages [in advance], but I refused because I didn't want to set a precedent of them having any involvement," Murphy said.

"Coldplay and Bryan Adams were really the only rejections. But Coldplay called a week ago and said, 'We're sorry, you can have our catalogue'."

So far the Glee cast have managed to revive songs including Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing which soared to number four on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart a year ago.
