The Last Shadow Puppets plot second album
Alex Turner The guitarist has contacted fellow band member Miles Kane about the prospect of recording a new album as the follow-up to 2008 release The Age of the Understatement.
Guitarist Miles – who released The Colour of the Trap, his first solo album, in May this year – spoke to Gigwise.com about the chances of a new Last Shadow Puppets album, saying that he and Alex “were talking about it the other day, around how we could work it”.
But the ex-Rascals frontman added that, “at the moment, it’s hard as we both have stuff out and tours coming up”, while, as far as he is concerned, “I’d just like to do a second [solo album] relatively quickly and I’m sure, if we were to do a second Last Shadow Puppets album, that would come soon after”.
Meanwhile, 25-year-old Alex recently chatted about the fact Arctic Monkeys feel much more “confident” with the band’s sound on fourth release, Suck It And See.
He said that “we’re more confident as a band at the moment”, before jokingly adding that “we can relax a bit more and put more effort into our high kicks now…maybe it will be time to get some pyrotechnics out soon!”
