Björk reveals new album and project details.

Björk has announced that her upcoming eighth solo studio album and multimedia project, Biophilia, will release on September 26 in the UK and September 27 in the US.

Björk relaunched her website last month, and the first stage of an app version of the upcoming album can be downloaded for free from iTunes as of July 19. Fans can also take a peek at the just-revealed album art.

The singer has so far released two singles from the album, "Crystalline" and "Cosmogony," and both are available on iTunes.

For Björk super-fans, an "ultimate edition" will be available for $800, featuring "black uncoated board wallets" and a "silkscreened oak hinged-lid case for the album." In addition to CD and vinyl editions, a book version of the album will be available as a 48-page, full-color hardbound with artsy features, including a foil-blocked spine and back cover.

A video for the track "Crystalline," directed by Björk's long-time collaborator Michel Gondry, is set to premiere on YouTube on July 26.

Björk has been nominated for 13 Grammy Awards, as well as an Academy Award for her role in the film Dancer in the Dark.
