Songwriter Accuses Coldplay Of Stealing Songs
By MusicRooms on 14/01/2010
Coldplay are once again facing a legal battle after songwriter alleges he wrote three of the band's hit songs.
Sammie Lee Smith claims he is responsible for composing the group's tracks Yellow, Clocks and Trouble, according to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Wednesday.
Smith alleges the songs were stolen from him - and he wants Chris Martin's band to stop playing them, reports TMZ.com.
The unknown songwriter is also demanding unspecified financial compensation.
Coldplay previously faced a copyright infringement lawsuit from guitar great Joe Satriani, who accused the Brits of stealing "substantial" segments of his song If I Could Fly.
The rockers, who denied any wrongdoing, settled the case in September.
