Brandon Flowers thinks it “seems inevitable” that his talent will “go away”.

The Killers frontman – who releases his debut solo album ‘Flamingo’ this week – admits he worries about his talents waning and that he one day won’t always be able to write songs of the calibre of ‘Mr Brightside’ or ‘Human’.

Speaking to Absolute Radio he said: “It’s also a strange thing, having a talent like this, it could go away I feel like… It seems like it’s inevitable.”

Brandon also told of his surprise at how many other bands he’s come across in the ten years in which The Killers have risen to prominence who aren’t anywhere near as sincere as they make out.

He added: “Well, you know, what I’ve noticed in all my travels is there’s a lot of phoney, I’ve seen some phoniness, so it’s hard for me, I wasn’t prepared for that.

“There are some bands that are so great at it and it’s almost like they are... I don’t know where it comes from.”

Brandon also explained how he tried to impress one of the producers he worked with on ‘Flamingo’, Daniel Lanois, by writing a song for him.

He said: “He was a little bit reluctant at first, you know, he had to come to Las Vegas and meet me, and so I wanted to impress him, and he really loved gospel music and so I wrote this song called ‘On The Floor’, and I guess it did the trick because he stayed, he stuck around.”

‘Flamingo’ is out now.
